Agricultural Lime for Indiana Farmers

South Lake Stone provides quality agricultural lime to help local farmers and growers maintain balanced soil PH and get the most out of their ground. Sourced and processed at our Hebron facility as well as offering delivery throughout Lake, Porter and Jasper counties and the surrounding Northwest Indiana Region.

Aglime Explained

Agricultural lime is finely ground limestone applied to soil to neutralize soil acidity and raise pH. Most Indiana row-crop soils gradually acidify over time as a result of fertilizer use, plant uptake, and natural weathering. Lower pH reduces nutrient availability and limits crop yield, even when fertility programs look strong on paper.

Applying aglime brings soil pH back into the optimal range, which improves nutrient availability, microbial activity, and root development. For Indiana corn and soybean operations in particular, maintaining proper soil pH is one of the most cost-effective inputs available.
